Hello Community,

I have a problem that I am hoping you all might be able to shed some light on. I have a Canon t3i, one of its features is an autofocus in video mode. This does not apply when the camera is actually filming(recording), but while in video mode before recording.
This part is what is not working. When I half press to autofocus (this works fine when I am taking pictures) nothing happens.
I have a friend who has the same camera and the same std lens (18-55) and there camera does the half press autofocus before actually recording.
Here are my settings

In Video Mode, I push the menu button. In the first menu page I see, here are the setting.

Movie Expsoure Auto

AF mode Live Mode

AF w/shutter button during [camera icon] enable is in blue

Shutter AE lock is set to AE/AF, no AE lock.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a solution?
