To refute a customer's claim of wrongdoing is fair enough but to insult them calling them 'delusional' is downright stupid. Is that company run by Gerald Ratner?

Now that wouldn't be a surprise, would it?

Just out out interest I recently purchased the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM from them to replace one that was busted, and delivery was within a few days as expected and it seems brand new in original packaging. I will check the serial number tomorrow with Canon UK in light of the comments on here and report back. But I must say otherwise I am extremely happy with it.

Also check whether you got the warranty documents in the box.

http://www.reviewcentre.com/Online-Came ... ew_1738905 Seems VAT/import duty issue is cropping up again.
Also noticed how many reviews are going OTT, especially after every negative review + how they seem to want to encourage folk to pay by Bank Transfer, by offering a little extra discount. Now that is a sure way to lose any recompense, should buyers have any problems!

Well I had no issue with VAT or import duty and to be fair I thought it was shipped from the UK when I ordered.
The box had all the paperwork.

Don't you hate that shop? I mean, I think they have really dirty tricks that are just not right! And not paying taxes is really not nice :|

Well there's a surprise "" We're sorry this review is not currently available.""
Seems they had the review removed.
I wouldn't rust that review site anyway as ANYONE can write a review regardless of purchase or not.
There are so many glowing reviews, wonder who wrote them?

IMO the majority of reviews on there are not genuine. They're so OTT they're laughable, BUT folk will read them & believe the BS.
Got to say I was surprised that the more negative ones, especially pointing out the pitfalls & BS, have been removed.

Seems a few are getting responses, but how long before they are `unavailable`?

BTW Dalem, did you hear anything else/have you taken it any further?

Well at least someone cares about removing those fake reviews because there are tons of people who do believe them.

Also, for dalem: as oldCarlos asked, has something new come up yet?

Guys.
Sorry for silence. I am away on my winter break to Cyprus. Will be back January 27 and will update anything then.
I don't have much access to Internet when I am here. Have tried a few wireless hotspots but it is so slow I often give up.
Anyway the photography is pretty good here and enjoying the winter sun.
Catch you all soon. All the best. D.
