£3000 is a bit much. When the price drops significantly which will probably be in 6-12 months time I will get one. Although if I can pick up a mk2 cheaply I might be tempted :D

Full frame is good and all but the 5D2 isn't, and won't be for a long time, cheap enough to suffer through its AF.

I might buy it but not in the UK £3000 is indeed a bit too much.

I can get it for about £2200 next time Im in Taiwan this summer, the photo equipment store always sells stuff to me for the lowest possible price! And after every purchase the store owners always invites me to dinner in some restaurant. Im guessing Im a loyal customer xD

The Mk3 looks awesome, but I am still very happy with my 7D. The only way I am going with the MK3 is if I get it used after the MK4 is out.

I handled one at a local dealer this week, and am glad that the 5D3 is so very similar to my familiar 7D cameras. My "maybe" has become a bit more positive.

I was expecting to have it today, as I have it on order with my local camera shop. However they will not have it until Monday! This will be a very long weekend:)

I was in London yesterday. Jessops near moorgate had it in stock, but by the time I walked in, on the off chance, they had already sold out! Plus anyway I had realised that the price in euros is cheaper than the pound price too. A saving of 300 euros it seems, so definitly worth buying it here in Paris instead...

though Jessops isnt the best place with best price.... they usually sell at highest price!

So u should visit either Clifton Cameras, Warehouse Express or Camulet. They've got better pricing :)

if u've got time to wait, u should have a look at http://www.onestop-digital.com/ they usually have the lowest price and delivers to u in 2 days :)

I will not be buying the Mklll at this price. £3,000 for the body only is too much. I could afford it but will not pay that kind of money on what amounts to a full frame sensor 7D. I like the standard lens that the kit version comes with but the 24 - 105mm lens is best suited to the full frame sensor. Canon is a bit short on an equivalent L lens for the 7D (around 15 - 66mm). I would also like a full frame sensor camera to compliment my 40D. A 7d could well be a bit superfluous when I already have a 40D. Even the 5D mkll has increased in price recently!

By the way I am not able to vote in the poll now. Or is this new forum format confusing me?

When I set up the poll I put a time limit on it, as I thought it would be more interesting to see what the initial impressions of people were then. That would change over time, so if someone else wants to they could run a similar poll later.

Also, I think we lost an option. I'm sure I put in something like "no, it's not what I need" too.

I bought it from a local dealer (Objectif Bastille). I picked up today during my lunch break. Wow is all I really have to say so far. I cannot wait to see what it can do in low light tonight.
