Unfortunately you wont be able to - due to a few limitations

1) because the sensor is open and the mirror is up and the shutter effectively taking a break, the light entering the lens is constantly hitting the sensor

2) because this light is constant, and so is video, any "light leaks" can disturb the video or soemtimes obstruct it.

3) the viewfinder is normally optical in DSLR's so it has to be closed off to prevent light entering the camera from the top - if light leaks into the camera, you will get strange effects like light flare, over exposure, under exposure and worse, a white image.

4) film/video cameras with optical view finders are quite large - pick up any video camera with a viewfinder thats less than 5 grand and 99% of the time it will be an electronic viewfinder only.

Hope this helps

I don't really do video but if you plan to do it often they make lcd covers that simulate the use of an eye piece and that block the sun from the lcd.
