I dont want to sound pretentious, but you just bought a 5D... Its a 5D - and 3.9fps is more than enough in my opinion.

But to have 21MP on a FF sensor, with a 5Dmk2 Badge, and with an L lens with that beautifully large View finder (even if its 98% and 0.71 magnification) its still bigger than the 7D's viewfinder.

Congrats on your purchase, Im envious - if I had the money, the 5Dmk2 would be in my kit right now instead of the 7D.

Now that I have had time to try the 5D the 3.9 frames per second is not at all bad.
The 7D was my alternative choice of DSLR had I done sports or fast action shots. The 7D is however, in my opinion still a fine camera.

What would I buy with £2500?

Battery Grip
35mm L lens (Canon)
Sliding Strap
New Case
Tripod

Once purchased, I would use the remaining funds to buy either a secondry high grade lens, or a hybrid flash system (the type with battery packs).

A body upgrade would be nice, but would make the 500D mainly redundant, which would be pointless, especially once I had the grip for it.
