Been a little quiet, so I guess it is time for another random photography question.

This one is a little different.
What photography item do you want for Christmas, and what item do you feel you will get? Basically, while I'm sure everyone would love to get a new Canon 1D-X with a nice white lens for Christmas, it would not be practical to expect it. So this is more of a realistic wish than a fantasy one. Though you could separate the fantasy from reality if you desired and list both.

How you answer is up to you.

To start, while I would love either a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM, a 7D or 5DII for this Christmas, I think what I will get is a photography book.

Though if I do not receive the book, I will go out and purchase it immediately. Still trying to justify the others to myself.

I'd like the next high MP full frame camera from Canon to be announced. Doesn't need to be for sale. Just get on with it!

What I will probably get? I might get myself a short focal length macro. Don't really exchange gifts with others.

I'm saving some money for the 24-105mm f4L IS USM but I guess I won't get anything photography related (IF I will get something in that direction, I guess it won't be more than some eneloops and / or micro fibre cloth or something). But at the moment I don't expect anything.
So I'll just save some more money and get the 24-105 as soon as possible

UNREALISTIC: I want a 200mm f2 IS L USM - thats $8000 bucks Australian

REALISTIC: I want a 300mm f4 IS L USM - thats $1500 bucks Australian.

if only I can afford the 200mm, and even the 300mm wont happen anytime soon anyway.

I am wanting to upgrade my 50mm 1.8 to the 50/1.4 USM. My unrealistic wish is the EF 100-400, but I wouldn't expect anyone to spend $1600 on me.

I wouldn't mind a 7D body but just a few filters and small non esential items on my amazon wish list is all i expect.

Now if someone has an extra $40,000 sitting around I would mind one of those 1D pro kits with ultimate envy packages from amazon,
