I am considering upgrading from a Canon EOS 500D / T1i to a higher grade Rebel. From the rumors appearing on the Internet, perhaps a Canon EOS 650D / T4i will be released in February of 2012? I do not want to spend any money on a T3i if a possible T4i is going to appear on the market with a possible Digic 5 Processor, and maybe stereo recording ability built in the camera body? I'm not too excited about the possibility of a touch screen and WiFi. Sounds like a good way to run a battery down in a hurry. I honestly am not in a position to afford the D60 or D7, etc. It would be nice to be able to acquire the EFS 15-85 mm USM zoom lens . . . Also, I hike, and I do not want to be carrying a heavy camera around when a Rebel wil more than meet my needs for landscape / nature photography. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you very much. :D

What do you think is missing with the Digic 4 processor that the Digic 5 will offer you?

For video recording, do you not think using an external microphone could offer better audio quality anyway (the 600D supports stereo input through an external mic)?

Not that I'm telling you what to do with your money but if you keep holding back on buying because of a future upgrade, you may never spend it.

In recent years they've been releasing a new camera at that level on average once a year, so there will always be something around the corner.

If you need something now, get something now. If you can wait, wait.

Er... muahahahaha :D Sorry. The D60 is probably the cheapest EOS out there. Used. Not to be confused with the 60D  Be careful where you put the "D" ;)
