I have a simple question, planning on upgrading from
a canon rebel xs (d1000) to a canon rebel T3i. So will
the current rebel xs lenses fit the rebel T3i or will I need
to upgrade all the lenses also. Tried to ask this
question in the local portland camera shops and all I got
was don't know or not sure, so hoping someone might know
the correct answer. Thanks for knowledge, pnwhiker.
FYI Canon rebel xs (d1000)
Lenses:
canon 28-105 mm
canon 75-300 mm
canon 70-200 mm

If your lenses work on the 1000D, they'll also work with a T3i! They're even all EF-lenses if Im correct, those will fit on any Canon body available.

All Canon EF lenses will work on any EOS camera.
While you didn't mention any EF-S lenses, they will work on any EF-S compatible body such as a digital rebel series (T3i).

However, 28mm is not that wide on a rebel due to the crop factor, while while it will work on your camera that doesn't mean you could upgrade some lenses if you wanted to. If you are happy with your current lenses you can still keep using them.
