I have purchased a new Canon PowerShot SX120 IS. I didnt understand how to take the Continuous Shots and Continuous Shots AF.

Could you please someone help me guiding--how can I take continuous shots?

If you press the Function button in the middle of the control wheel, there should be an icon with several cascading squares. That should be your continuous shooting menu.
