Thanks for the info last time guys. I picked up the 28-105 mk II and my first DSLR, a 20D from KEH.

Another question for my probable second lens. I am looking at the Sigma 15-30 f3.5-4.5. I was looking around at various places and have found widely varying prices. Adorama has it for about 500, but Amazon has it for 280. I suspect that the difference is in the details. Can someone translate the Sigma jargon on the ends of these lenses?

Sigma 15-30mm f3.5-4.5 EX DG DF at Adorama for $499
http://www.adorama.com/SG1530EOS.html

Sigma 15-30mm f3.5-4.5 EX DG IF at Amazon for $279
http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-15-30mm-3-5 ... 929&sr=8-1

Am I missing something, or is this just a crazy good deal? (I suspect the former.) Thanks a lot guys!

[size=12][size=9]okay so pretty much the "f3.5-4.5 EX DG IF" portion of the name is telling you this the "f3.5-4.5" is the minimum appature at both extremes of the lenes zoom, the "EX" mean that the lens is part of Sigma's EX series, the "DG" is a large-aperture lenses with wide angles and short minimum focusing distances, and finally the "IF" is for inner focusing as opposed to rear focusing which makes for better stabilization.

and now the sites

they are both selling the same lens its just from amazon you have the choice to buy the lens at different prices from different companies. The company which you would be buying through from amazon is Cameta Camera and there is nothing wrong with them.

all in all i would say go for amazon

If you go with Amazon don't forget they are one of our affiliate stores in the USA. Same price but if you start your order by linking to them from that page you help support the CameraLabs site. 8)
