Hah! My coffee bill is pretty big, but the coffee videos are taken at a cafe called Vudu, whereas the bar shots and videos are from Dux De Luxe.

Hi Gordon,
Can you confirm when the video tour will be up on Youtube?

Do you have one yet to test?

Of course I have one to test! How do you think I did the high ISO comparison and the video samples?!

I won't be doing a video review for some time though because I have lots of cameras I need to test right now and the written reviews take priority - since they're the ones which actually generate any money.

Gordon you had mentioned "the image quality and default processing styles on the 550D / T2i, 60D and 7D are essentially the same" in one of your comments.

But I noticed that you had given 7D an 18/20 and the 550D a 19/20 for IMAGE QUALITY in your indepth reviews. Is there a diffrence in the image quality between these two cameras?

Or is that difference because the cameras are in different categories.

This question is asked a few weeks ago, but it's because you want/need or simply expect the 7D to have more power than the 550D, and because of the 7D is a pro camera, it needs to have very very good IQ. Dont get me wrong: The 7D delivers excelent IQ.

Hi Ruben, Thanks for that update/advise. Gordon's 18/20 for IQ held me back from going for the 7d. Im trying to upgrade from a 550d. 60d or 7d?

Also is there any chance that the 7d might be replaced (and phased out)within the next 10-12 months?

I don't think so - it's not so old yet. I'd guess it takes about 18-24 months until the replacement is announced - and then in the first few months the price will be higher.

I, and many others, have asked the same question: http://www.cameralabs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23904

Basically the 550D delivers best in it's class (entry level DSLR) IQ and that essentially they will all give the same IQ under a well lit still shot. The D7 will do much better taking action shots.

I presume the D60 IQ will be pretty much the same but await Gordon's full review.

Yes, they're in different categories, that's why the score was different.

Please only use the scores as a very rough guide - please judge the cameras on the whole review and results.

Thanks. One more question. Does the New 60D fall into the category with the 7D or the 550D?

I think that the only kind of category that is somehow consistent through generations of bodies is the price category.
IQ, features , build and so on, change with the generations making the entry level, semi pro and pro categories meaningless across generations of bodies.
This is one source of confusion. The entry level of a later generation may surpass in some specs the semi pro of an earlier generation have some features of the pro category of the current generation and be considered a current semi pro by comparing it whith other cameras. It’s all a big confusion if one tries to put a new camera in some arbitrary spec/features category and compares with the others.
If one dubs the price category( let’s say 700 to 1200 , 1200 to 3500 and > 4000 USD ) of a DSLR with the entry level, semi pro and pro names it may be less confusing.

I think you did a good job on this and made a comment on the YTube site telling you so.
I'd like to know how you are fairing with this camera now. Are you still liking it a lot or are there some flaws/disappointments you've discovered.
