hello fellow enthusiasts!

i am a Filipino guy with an Italian first name, and a Spanish last name,
who is an engineer by profession, but studied also French culinary as a
hobby. I am living in Canada right now driving a German made car,
married to a lovely Russian wife who loves cooking Thai and Chinese
cuisines. i am working for an American company and has just recently
bought a high tech piece of equipment made by a Japanese corporation
aka Canon EOS 40D. i have two celfones always with me, one made by
a Finnish company and the other made by a company from Taiwan. i love
Jamaican and Cuban music and im a sucker for Australian beaches!

and also, i am one of the biggest fan of a guy from Queenstown,
New Zealand named GORDON LAING :D

Gordon, you are the main reason why i have gotten myself into this mess
called "Photography" since the reason i bought this camera is because of
you! so you better help me with my questions!

as far as i can recall, the only cameras i have owned in my entire life is
a Polaroid "shaker" and a disposable Kodak 24 shot camera. aside from
that, i have bought a Casio Exilim P&S for my daughter who uses it to
upload pictures of her self and her friends to friendster.

i am still in the process of learning the ABCs of the digital world and i am
glad that i have found this forum. you guys deserve a pat in the back for
the helpfull ideas and tips that you have been giving everyone. not like
the other forum wherein they flame you for posting something that they
dont like

to Gordon, the administrators, moderators, staff and members of
Cameralabs.com, thank you and congratulations!

to Gordon alone, i'll get back to you with my questions!

best regards and God bless.

-mario.

Quick one...What are you cooking for dinner at this moment?

Seriously though, welcome aboard. It sounds like you're running a little United Nations at your place. :P

You'll find the group here to be very helpful and friendly with their advice.

Welcome Mario!
[flame on]But you should have at least mentioned that you almost bought a Nikon D80 plus the lovely 18-200mm VR, before your wife surprised you with this 40D for your birthday  [flame off]
 8)

Hi Mario, another welcome to the forums - and a nice introduction too!

We're working on some tutorials which you may find useful, but in the meantime, there's several 40D owners around here who should be able to help with any questions!

Gordon
