Ok, so besides price is there really much of a difference between a converter and an actual wide angle lens? How much wider will a converter actually make the scene? They don't seem to have reviews or even many details wrt the converters. Has anybody out there actually ever used a converter? thanks

Hello Realtor1,

I have a wide angle converter for my Tamron lens and they aren't that good, it deteriorates the image quality and it really doesn't help much. That is just my converter anyway, I'm sure there's some converter out there that's equally as good as the real lens.

Hope this helps! :)

Hi Realtor, some converter lenses can do a good job, but ultimately they're no substitute for a lens which is designed for a certain job. So if you want wide angle, I'd get a wide angle lens - or a zoom which can go wide...
