Greetings.

I was recently given the opportunity to buy an almost new Canon 10D - less than 10.000 shutter actuations, I would guess. I already have a Canon 500D with the original kit lens (18-55 IS) and a Tamron zoom (18-200), so this could be considered a "downgrade".

Anyway, included in the "package" are a couple of lenses: a 28-105 USM and a 75-300, both Canon and both EF mount.

The price is about 500€ for all the stuff.

I'm thinking the real "deal" here are the lenses. What do you all think?

Typical UK dealer used prices converted to euros:
About 125 for the 75-300, plenty of them around, not considered good.
There's one 28-105 I see going for about 190. Better suited to full frame anyway.
About 170 for the 10D.

So I guess that price is about typical in UK for a dealer to sell at. If private sale it should be a bit lower. If you want any of those items you're better off picking them by themselves.

Remember, the 10D only takes EF lenses, so your 18-55 and 18-200 will not be able to fit on it.
I think, if you want such a move, youre better be buying a 20D with 1 good lens, instead of the 10D with less good lenses.

Well - the Tamron *might* fit. Not 100% sure about it but as far as I know Tamron is still using the "EF" mount on their crop-sensor lenses.

The Tamron fits, just tried it. Yep, I bought it.

This is what I got:

. 28-105 EF USM lens + hood + UV filter;

. small Lowepro camera bag (Nova Mini AW);
. lens bag;
. tripod;
. 4 GB CF card;
. 512 MB CF card;
. 256 MB CF card

All in all I think it was a pretty good deal - at least that's what I keep telling my wife...
