WOW... looks and feels even better when you get it in your hands and don't you just love that Red ring around the top stands out even more on a black lens than it does on a white one

Roy - You've got a nice looking gear line-up there. I agree about the feel of the lens. When I first handled it I thought it had a much larger diameter than I imagined for an f/4 lens.

Congrat's on your new lens!!

Hi Everyone,

I thought Gordon said he was going to review the 24-105 on a 400d are we ever going to see this?

Yes yes! Give me a chance!

I will be reviewing the 24-105mm on the 400D in the near future, but the review has been put on hold with all the new cameras arriving. They have priority over lenses.

Roy, glad it's arirved safely! It's a lovely lens, and what a nice position to be in, being able to personally compare the red 'L' ring on both black and white barrels! There's no turning back now!

One of the benefits of being retired with a hefty lump sum given back in June and a good company pension

Do you mean to say the L series on Black and White barrel are different 'standards' ?

David,

Gordon is just commenting on how lucky Roy is, being in possession of two L lenses - not to mention that one of them has the prestigious white barrel!!!
