Just brought a 70-200mm F/4 L IS as well. first impression is the build quality is top notch and i am surprised it doesn't felt heavy at all. the focusing and FL ring is tight and smooth.

will take some photos and post it here sometime.

cheers all

Hello everyone. Thanks for the reply's. My new Canon EF 70-200MM L series Lens is on the way. I can't wait till it comes. It is a non-IS lens. Since I mostly Photograph Trains. I am so eager to put it to use. I'm just tired of using my "Standard" EF 75-300MM Lens. Not anymore. Later everyone.

Can't wait to see your photos 4agze. It's possible you might be having so much fun shooting, that you won't have a lot of forum time!

BNSFrailfan-great news on the pending f4 acquisition. I'll bet those trains will be flawlessly captured once you get it.

I have definitely decided to skip the 70-300mm purchase, and move right to the 70-200mm f4L!

good show, all

Specifically for the 70-200mm f4 L IS lens:

Which circular polarizing filter fits and performs the best?

I'm trying to decide between B & W 44842 and Hoya Model 0558.

B & W is double the price of the Hoya. Is it that much better?

Can you adjust either one more easily with the 70-200mm lens hood?

thanks

P.S. Just ordered the 70-200mm f4 L IS!
(It only stung for a minute).

Hey, someone's gotta stimulate the economy!

you wont be able to adjust the filter at all with the hood attached, forget it. B&W filters tend to be very good, so I'd definitely pick up a B&W because after all, if you buy a 1000$ lens, you shouldn't be that greedy on the 50$ more for the filter ;)

good point, Nostrum.

I get an added bonus since the 67mm thread will also work on my 17-85!

BNSFrailfan-hang in there!

Good things come to those who wait.

Defiance-Nice link to the 70-200 capabilities.

I'm sure my lens is a week away, but I'm just enjoying the anticipation.

I plan on adding a 70-200 f/4 L IS as a walk around zoom lens.
I want the heavier f/2.8 L IS for sports.
