If you ever wondered how your lenses are made visit the Virtual Lens Plant. You will need Adobe Flash Player version 8 or later.

If the "direct" link above doesn't work then try this linkand click on the link labelled "Please visit the Virtual Lens Plant." When you do a new window will open.

Gordon was kind enough (in another thread) to point out the existence of a book called EF LENS WORK III.

It seems that this book is pretty much out of print now, which is a shame, but Canon have made the content available on their web-site.

If you follow this link you can choose which language you would like. Each of the sections of the book is then viewable (or downloadable) as a "pdf" file. Not quite so sexy as a spot of book fondling, of course, but better than nothing.
