can you please advise me if i to upgrade my camera from eos 500d to eos 50d.
since i have a relative to readily purchase my 500d, which i'm willing to sold it too, im thinking of upgrading to 50d...
is this a good move?

Hello belong, well it is/it isn't. Depends on, if you are just selling the body and upgrading to 50d or are you selling your lenses too? How much do you have to spend more on 50D?
Though the 50D is fancier then 500D, but do concider the option of spending the extra amount towards a better lens then the 18-55. I am just assuming that presently your funds will be insufficient for buying a descent lens (according to your style of shooting) if you spend it on 50D. Otherwise ..... you will know what to do
If you kindly enlighten us with your plans in the future concerning photography,, it will be easier for us to give you the best of our advice.
Everybody agrees that investing on a lens is a safe bet.
Good luck to you.

upgrading my lens to much better than the kits lens is much costlier than upgrading the body...
for now, since i am still beginner in photography i would settle for the basic lens, i guess. upgrading/spending on the 50d body is much cheaper for me right now. i on the right track?
need advise again...

For starters, the sensor in the 50D is very closely related to the one in the 500D. Don't expect the image output to be different.

The possible reason for upgrading is the handling and speed of the 50D. It can shoot faster, and you have more easier access to controls. Against this is the bigger body, and if memory serves me correctly the 500D has video which the 50D does not.

Canon DSLRs: 7D2, 7D1, 5D2, 1D, 600D, 450D full spectrum, 300D IR mod
Lenses: EF 35/2, 85/1.8, 135/2+SF, 70-300L, 100-400L, 100L, MP-E 65, EF-S 10-18, 15-85
3rd party: Zeiss 2/50 makro, Samyang 8mm fisheye, Sigma 50/1.4A, 150 macro, 120-300 f/2.8 OS
Compacts: Sony HX9V, Fuji X100.

Well Popo has, what you call, "Sum it up for you" IMHO, save the money for a better lens.
Good Luck to you.

hi belong! probably in my opinion go first for a good lens then upgrade the body in the future. the canon eos 500D is a very good camera once you have some very good lenses to match with it. try to get the likes of 17-55 f2.8 or the new 15-85 which produces very good image quality.
