Hello everyone!

I'm choosing a lens for Pentax K200D. My choise is between Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG and Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di LD.
I need both macro and telephoto functions. So the main question is: which one is better and more durable?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. What is the difference between Sigma DG and Sigma DG APO?

Welocme to the forums :D

I believe to have read that the Tamron is the best of those two, but not sure.
About the last question. APO is higher quality glass than non-APO - at least as i understood it ;)
Hope i was to help.

Hi all

I'm also deciding between Sigma and Tamron. I'm torn between Sigma 17-70 and Tamron 17-50. The Sigma has "macro" and extra 20mm of reach whereas the Tamron has constant f2.8. One of these will be the replacement for my 400D kit lens. Please help!

17-50mm no doubt you crazy nut. IQ is much better and constant f/2.8 is also much more useful
