 Post subject: Tamron 28-105 SP
PostPosted: Sat Oct 11, 2008 7:10 am
Looking for a walkaround lens for either a Nikon D80/90 or Canon XSI (heart is saying Nikon, head and wallet is saying Canon) and Tamron has a 28-105 in their SP range. Has anyone used one of these and any comparisons with the Nikon Nikon VR kit lenses or Canon 28-135 IS?
Have used the 28-135 previously and am looking for IQ at least equal to that lens.

Thanks,

Hal55

Not sure about the IQ but I doubt it would make a good walkaround lens. The 28mm wide angle becomes 42mm or 45mm on a cropped body and that's very close to the standard focal length meaning you don't get to go very wide at all.
