At least one thing is clear already: The size
of the Sigma is 83.5x81mm and it weighs
470g, whereas the Canon is 84x90mm and weighs in at 385g. So the Canon is 10% longer (which coincidentally is equivalent to the longer 22mm focal length) but weighs almost 20% less than the Sigma although it has the larger aperture with 3.5-4.5 against 4.0-5.6. Would be interesting to understand where the weight of the Sigma comes from
difference: Sigma is around 30% cheaper than the Canon.
: both have 77mm filter-threads
The Sigma is notorious for delivering some very high quality copies of the 10-20mm and then letting people down with the optical quality of other copies.
Will be interesting to see what the quality of Gordons and my lens is. Hello out there! Anybody with personal experience with the Sigma with regard to pic quality
