It has been more than five years since Thomas' excellent review of the predecessor of this lens. User reviews on Amazon indicate that the II is a significant improvement. I just realized, today, that this lens is not only for full-frame cameras, but the II version is splash-resistant. This makes this lens a contender for an ultra-wide for a 1.3x-crop 1D-series camera.

I would like to learn more, please, from any members of this forum who have experience with the II version. Thanks! :)
