Hi folks,
Almost impossible to find by accident on the Sigma USA website but much more accessible on the Sigma UK site are Sigma's Digital Neo Lenses which are available for Sony's E-mount (
product page) and micro four-thirds (
product page).
I've seen an assertion elsewhere that the "
newly developed linear AF motor which moves the lens unit directly without the need for gears or the drive of other mechanical parts" is similar to the new video tuned STM drives Canon has just announced in a pair of lenses as part of the T4i/650D launch. Of course both the E-mount and micro four-thirds bodies lack any sort of main sensor based predictive PDAF capability (so far!) so hunting may always be an issue. Has anyone here invested in either the 19mm f/2.8 EX DN or 30mm f/2.8 EX DN and have some feedback to share on how well these lenses perform?
Bob.
