Not doing it anytime soon but was kicking around the idea for a 1.4 extender for my new tamron 70-300. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the tamron converters. I've found 2 different ones for canon one listed as just AF and one as SP, their special version. My questions; are they limited to specific lenses such as the canon L extenders or the Sigmas specifically say which lenses they work with? Another question, these extenders have a lot of reviews, some of which say that is not designed for digital cameras???? When other reviews list all these different lenses they have tested it with digital cameras. Problem is tameron does not list it on their website. Any thoughts or experience?

Sorry Mike, but no specific experience here.
but I do know that my Nikon 1.7x TC does not work with all my other lenses, in many cases because the protruding front of the TC does come in conflict with the backend of the lens.
I once had a Kenko 1.5x TC with transmission of machanical AF that was much less choosey as to the lens that it worked with.
Now Tamron's own TC should work with a 70-300 Tele-zoom but you should better make sure that you can give the TC back w/o restocking fee. If that doesn't work have a go at the Kenko.

Thanks Thomas. I still think it is odd the Tamron's own website does not mention them...oh well when I get close to it I'll try some more research.
