Hi all
Noticed a problem with the 11-16mm yesterday.
When i get to around 12.5 to 13mm focal length i get FEE come up on the camera.
Either side of these focal lengths it seems to be working ok, though im not 100% sure its not over exposing at the moment as some shots were a bit blown out..
This is a Nikon mount on a D90. My other Nikon G lenses all work fine.
The aperture seems to working at the other focal lengths going through the whole range from f2.8 to f22.
Guess it send it back to Tokina unless some one knows of a easy fix?
Must be an contact issue around that point on the zoom ring?

Made a few calls about this.
Kenro here the official distributor in the UK wouldn't touch it as the serial No. isn't one they have imported and distributed, i brought the lens S/H.
So that's the official Tokina route killed off, though might be able to get spare parts from them...
They put me onto PJ Camera Repairs ltd but i get a quote back of £144.
All a bit rubbish really, guess i can skip pass 12/13mm focal length but i'd prefer it being 100%.

Just managed to get a look at the Tokina.
Found the problem fairly simple fix, though not completely ideal.
Moving contacts for the focal length select was out of alignment causing one of the wipers to short on a thin bit of PCB trace between two contacts. (third visible contact down in top pic)
Slight 'adjustment' shall we say of the wiper mount cured the problem.
Think its a bit of the PCB flex is off square and the contacts slightly off too.
Don't think many people have had this issue though have heard of a few cases of the problem.
Anyway that's made my day! Quote of £144 to repair, glad i didn't!!!!
