Was looking at a lense a guy at the swap meet is selling. Promaster minolta 70-300 AT for my Sony a100 it looks in good condition. Guy wants 100 bux. Good deal? I read that someone had trouble with 70-300 lenses with Sony camera overpowering the drive.

Never heard of it, and can't find anything on that either.

The problem with 70-300 lenses is the specifically with the Sigma made ones, where they have a reputation of the internal gears getting worn out quickly from the Sony screw drive AF.
