Tokina is planning to launch a 16-28/2.8 FX lens, looks like it has a built-in lens hood. It has been silent quite a while around Tokina, and I am still waiting for the rest of the line up to get a redo as they promised with built-in motors ;-)
Let's hope Tokina will see the light, and get some more lenses in their line up soon again, with true built-in motors and manual override. Should be possible, they already cooperate with Sigma on the "F"LD glass (Hoya is Tokina)

They just announced they are working on it, nothing more has been announced, at DPReview there was a picture, nothing special. I can guess if they keep it in the same line as there 11-16/2.8 DX it will be better than Nikon's 16-35.

So this lens is official now, and like the 14-24 has no filter thread even though starting at 16mm instead of 14. Expected prices are made up by exchange rates and are like $1300-1400, steep pricing for 3rd party. Let's wait and see an official price in dollars and wait for the reviews if its really a competitor to Nikon's 14-24...

The big problem is that it's not much cheaper than the Nikon 17-35 F/2.8 or the 14-24, and that the 14-24 is almost sure to surpass the tokina in imagequality....
