Hi,
I am looking to build myself a good DSLR system. Have decided on a Canon 400d body. have decided on getting the Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4.5 which seems to me to be a versatile zoom range and affordable.
I however was concerned about the lens not being wide enough for my taste (1.6x f-length factor). So started considering the sigma 10-20. The addition of this lens is however a little prohibitive on my budget. A wide angle converter sounds like a more affordable option
Being a relative newbie into the dig-photography scene I had a few questions:
Was wondering if there are any wide angle converters compatible with the Sigma 17-70mm. How badly is the IQ affected.?
How do i check for its compatibility (is the size of the filter thread, the only info required(17-70 has a 72mm thread); Do step-up/down rings solve most compatibility issues?
What exactly is a 'zoom-through' converter? and last
Can any of you recommend a good converter to suit my purposes?
thanks in advance
regards
aditya

Hi Aditya,

Hope you don't mind but I have moved your post here to the Sigma forum. Hopefully you will get a better response to your questions here. 8)
