 Post subject: Sigma 18-250

I'm considering trading in my 3 Canon lenses: 18-55, 28-90 and 75-300 IS for a SIGMA 18-250. I use these with a Canon 20D. Any advice from anyone?

Also, in looking at various web sites, I see the SIGMA listed as DC OS HSM IF. I need help deciphering what these mean. OS = optically stabilized, I think; like Canon IS. But the others?

Thanks for your help.

DC = lens is created for cropped sensor bodies use only (like the 20D)
HSM = like Canon's USM, high speed AF motor
OS = IS on Canon indeed
IF = Internal Focussing, when focussing the lens stays the same length and the front element doesn't turn (handy for using special effect filters)
