But don't forget it's soft @ f:2.8, still for the price it's a cracking lens.

All lenses are "soft" at f/2.8. Compare the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 against the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS. Notice that the sharpness is practically the same. In fact, the Sigma is sharper in the centre when you get to f/5.6.

Considering that I paid about £450 for my Sigma and would have paid about £1200 for the Canon, I think it's a pretty good deal!

Oh please, back to dpreview, off you go
Seriously, a lot of my shots are made with the Sigma 70-200, and NO-ONE has ever said to me that my shots are soft. Softness is soo overrated, but if you want the absolute imagequality when photographing charts and books, feel free to buy the most expensive lens you can find. I'll just use my cheap scanner ;)

Here's my review of the 70-200 by the way: http://www.cameralabs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16662

You're very welcome. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the lens (although I will not photograph charts to show sharpness, just head over to my deviantart, and click on the download button on the left for an image you like. That will give you the full size ;)
