I just bought a new Tamron 18-270 lens.

I already read zooming in the middle range is tighter with this lens.
With my lens zooming from 270 to 18 is quite fluent, but going from 18 to 270 is quite tight en going an bit in shocks.

Zooming in against gravity (making a picture right above me) is going extremely tight and I then have to hold the lens firmly to make a picture, otherwise it's sliding back to 18 mm again.

Is this a problem with this lens in general or is something wrong with mine?

Sounds within expectations. When I first got mine, it was quite stiff in the middle, but that meant it would hold itself when angled. In the months I've had it, it has loosened up a bit and easier to zoom now, but it does creep more when angled now.
