Ok I've read a lot of complains about the front focusing problem commonly found in sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens, before buying the lens. Now that I have it, I am not sure if it suffers from the problem.
I attached a few images of a focusing test I did. Maybe you can tell if there is anything wrong. Each time, I auto-focused on the thick black line in the centre.

I just took 2 random pictures. Both focused on the mug, one auto (top one) the other manually (bottom).

The auto focused one clearly didn't focus on the mug but the sheet of paper instead.

I'm by far no pro but...
It appears you are trying this indoors in poor light ?
I would suggest attempting your same test OUTDOORS with the same subjects and some varying settings in good light.

Interested to see your results of that test.
