Thanks for the suggestion pgtips but what if I dont have any local shop selling this lens? I saw B&H has good user ratings even Adorama does, so shall I consider buying from them?

And Thomas, any idea about the Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5?

nope, I have no personal impression of this lens.
But I suspect, that QC at Sigma is the same with any lens. So no matter where you buy, make sure you can give the lens back for a full refund without a prohibitive "restocking fee"!

Now here's a review of the new f/3.5 version that I'd trust.
The resume contains the following verdict: "Those who already own the older and slower Sigma 10-20 most likely don't feel the need to upgrade"

Post subject: Nikon D60 auto focus?
PostPosted: Fri Apr 23, 2010 3:02 pm
Hey thanks for the great info guys.. i was wondering though:

I have a Nikon D60, will this sigma lens auto focus with it? as i have heard it may onl be auto focus. Also, would this be a better buy as opposed to the equivalent Nikkon 10-24mm wide angle?

Thanks again!

Hello uktrbuk, and welcome to the friendly Camera Labs forum!
To enjoy your stay here please have a look at the house-rules!

As to your question: This Sigma lens has a motor built into the lens so auto-focus (AF) works perfectly fine. You can also manually override the AF.
The Nikon 10-24mm is certainly the more desirable lens, if pnly because of the additional 4mm (=20%) longer reach (maximal focal length). But taking the price into account both lenses are worthy contenders for your money.
