Three pictures all taken with that new Quantaray 70-300mm I have, basically practicing with the manual focus and all. These could also be considered macro but they where not taken with a true macro lens. The light was poor because the sky was overcast so I set the ISO-400 fortunately the D40 has very little noise at 400 ISO.

Great shots Brate! I'm really impressed by all these butterfly shots - they always fly off before I can get near them... Are there any tricks to approaching them?!

No trick really just have to be quick and using manual focus is really teaching me alot.

The buggers that I try to capture here in good old Germany must have better eyes than yours: They fly away before I can get closer than 2m :(
