Just so happens I got a picture of an owl the other day!

Probably the coolest thing I've shot so far I must say. I had lots of fun that day.

Oooo... Very nice pictures. I love birds of prey, they just seem so majestic. I think most predators look pretty sleek though, especially the ones that rely on stealth. Shagrath, I imagine if that snow weren't on that tree it would be pretty hard to spot that owl. Sweet shot.

May i suggest you one thing WestCoast? Get on the level of the birds - at least as much as possible. Most of the times, the result will be much better. That's how it is for me at least ;)
Oh, and you seem to have focused on the back of the bird - not the head ;)

Wonderful bird, Bob...I think his hair looks spectacular, what is he..those feathers look like a crown..gorgeous.

And Alex, what in the heck...his bill is bigger then his whole body..
Wescoast, I like the little almost webbed feet on this little one...send him to da duck, he qualifies, I think..

love this thread!!

Hey, patti! You really seem to love the feathered friends huh?
Well... this one not everybody likes, at least down here... it's an Brazilian Black Vulture. It has an bad reputation because people think it brings bad luck or even death...
I don't care. I think this guy is pretty funny always sitting and watching the others 8)

This one looks way artificial to me. A friend had it Photoshoped for me to remove the fences between me and the bird so, as effect, the photo isn't as good as it could be
Well... at least is still sharp...
