Nice owls - always beautiful birds to photograph, but just not enough of them down by me.

KPR - nice Razorbill - glad for your first sighting - I've not ever seen one myself!

Pelicans are nice too - especially the first and third shots.

Carlos - love the clean look on that chaffinch - nice color on the bird, and smooth clean background.

I've been shooting a bunch, but taking a break from this thread - I think maybe I was overkilling it for a while, and felt like maybe folks were getting sick of seeing Florida birds! But I do still keep an eye on the thread to see what's new.

Thank you Justin, appreciate you commenting, it helps me learn. As does looking at the amazing pics from you experienced guys on the thread.

tbh, as a relative newbie, I don't feel I have the experience yet to comment on other posters pics, but really enjoy viewing the diversity of birds from around the world. (inc Florida) Never too many imho.

A picture from my first weekend with my new lens. Caught a Heron just landing in a tree going to feed it's young.

I haven't posted here in a while. Took a bit of a break from wildlife.

Taken early July in my back pond.

Caspian Tern.

It came out a bit earlier tonight, so the light was better than usual.

Rui - lovely terns - I love catching them in flight with those bold black and whites - and you've got some nice lighting on them.

Lovely owl - again I'm jealous of the opportunity to shoot those!

Well I guess I'll throw a few more in here, since it's been a while...if they aren't well received I'll know the Florida wetlands posts should be retired!

I got nice closeup opportunity with a least bittern - rare as they don't usually like people saddling up so close to them. I was shooting from no more than 10-12 feet! All shots A550 & Minolta 300mm F4 APO with Minolta 1.4x APO II TC:

First, the least bittern's lovely closeup show:

A black-bellied whistling duck who refused to move out of my way, let me close to within my lens' minimum focus distance:

Another from a little farther away, so you can see his body and colors:

Purple gallinule reaching for some seeds:

Once again, a Florida bird unwilling to move to make way for a person - this ungainly but purposeful wood stork sat still on the rail as I got right up to him:

This green heron was too busy grooming itself to worry about my approach:

A black crowned night heron sitting patiently in the shade in the shallows waiting for a fish:

This anhinga drying itself off in the hot sun was making all kinds of silly stretches and poses:

Great shots, as usual, I always enjoy your shots. I also love the strong colours that you get in your shots.
