My first post here, so I'm not sure it is going to work. This is a picture of my cat. So far between her and my 3 yr old daughter, the cat is the more willing subject.
Those green eyes just pop right in your face. Personally i would've liked for the cat to be behind something other than the red-ish, brown background, as she is a similar color, but when photographing animals you dont really get a choice as they're always moving.
I often try to capture the eyes of my dog, roxy, like these ones:
