Hi everyone,

I am interested in all aspects of photography, but over the years I have concentrated on two main areas, deep-sky imaging, and high-speed flash photography.

The units I built carry 200 Joules of energy and have a flash duration of 40 microseconds. This equates to something like f#32, 6 feet, ISO100. A Cambridge based company will be making these units available for purchase by the end of February 2008.

Does the short flash duration mean you can exceed the camera flash sync speed?

No I hadn't seen your thread Well you could do with one of these ultra high speed jobbies, especially with all the fantastic birdlife you have in New Zealand. I've not seen a nice coffee-table book on the Birds of New Zealand, and you're in the right place for that one.

Not sure how you would run into sync problems. Certainly not had any issues with film DSLRs, medium format film, or digital cameras.
