It seems to be really hard to get shots of whales!
Yaay, I couldnt get those pics.

they are actually pretty easy to photograph Ruben if you are with a good guide. I prefer shooting out of a small boat like a zodiac because it is easier and faster to position than these bigger guide boats that hold 40 or more people.

That being said I have gotten some good shots from larger boats as well but it is harder to put bigger boats in the right position.

Whales also tend not to be as spooky around smaller boats... they are perfectly willing to come right next to the boat... several times a day on this trip the guide had to start the motor just to remind the whales we were right there. Now I know they knew we were right there... starting the motor I think was more for us to remind the whales that we had a comfort zone as well and they were inside of it :shock:
