First one is ok, but 2nd is not a good angle on the bird. As you're cropping, would be worth playing with an off center composition.

agree with popo.. in the second one, with the solid blue backround, it would have been pretty easy to edit out all the manmade stuff as well like the road, car and sign giving a nice clean image of the bird without all the distractions.

On the 1st crop a little more off the left and right side.

and

the second if I may be honest, It doesn't do anything for me, as you captured the back of the gull and you can't see the face, but good detail.
