Was this taken with your Nikon DSLR? There seems to be quite a bit of chromatic aberration around the overexposed background, more so than I'd expect from a DSLR.

This is a tricky shot since the subject is against a bright background and bright snowy landscape. There's lots of snow where I am too, so I've been using some exposure bracketing to help me (and the camera) get a good exposure. I tend to find a slightly underexposed setting works better under these conditions.

Maybe -0.7 could have helped preserve more detail in the background and the cow's face. It also could help control that purple fringing.

I wish I knew what most of those words you wrote actually meant! Chromatic aberration?

Yeah it was taken on the Nikon. Was very low light levels and I was struggling to get many shots without using the flash (can't seem to get the right light levels when I use a flash, get that very bright foreground dark background happening).

Will be out and about today so I will try and get some more shots with a lower exsposure.

Thanks for the post!
