how do you find this lense on 300mm this where im strugling the most especially when its a dull day

You will struggle a bit on dull days because of the max F number at 300mm being f5.6,
to get any where near a decent shutter speed on dull days you will have to stick the
Iso up thus risking noise in the images, my advice on dull days would be to up the iso
and suffer the noise and also try to get a little closer to your subject if you can saving
you using the lens fully extended.

thanks for advice jay, i cant complain for the price its a crackin lense really and im still gettin used to it so its all good on that score

and gettin closer to the subject adds to the fun i reckon
