They should get some spot light attention now and again, i was wondering if there was some sort of illness in the species.

Thats true, i think that some species are suffering from lack of food where ever they over-winter,
we have loads of sparrows where i live in fact there are so many that i have had to put out extra feeders.

Not bad pic, i tend to just up my iso in low light settingsnd set my white balance accordingly.
Onto the bird species i think it's a female greenfinch (Carduelis chloris).

Check out http://www.garden-birds.co.uk/ for more info on british birds.

No problem i get slow at typing as well but it all depends on how many whiskys i have had :D
Last few days i have had loads of them in the garden, if they aren't feeding they are fighting, seems to be the way with sparrows.
