whoooohooooo! A 'sweeeeeeeeedish" heron...and joe, I am a heronaholic, too. I think they are so absurdly beautiful..that intense eye, you captured so well, and those fringe feathers over the shoulders..lthey always look like a shawl put on as an afterthought..ove em..that kinked neck always scares me a little, I think he might have caught something in there that turned sideways, but, no, they all have that. I love to see them in flight, with all those legs and wings and beaks flying along.
They are still the best of the best "standers", tho. Just love him.
A great shot.

love,
p

lowliferider says that his heron is a sssswiiiiis heron, as in switzerland...and I was trying to be funny, calling him a sweeedish heron, making a geographical implication that he was NOT a swiss, but a sweed, and so, if your feathers were ruffled by me kidding around, I am double sorry. Even I know the difference. Quack.
