Hi all,

Came across this little fella yesterday..pretty creepy!! I'm so glad I'm not an insect on the lower part of the food chain with this thing around!

I only had my 50mm with me so this is as close as I could get, but it was close enough for me :)

that thing is crazy looking! great photo's! #1 is my fav i like the position of the beetle and how the flower is also good focus! beauty and the beast thing going on there. for only having your 50 i'd say those are dang good! by the way your entry for the may on assignment cracked me up i can't wait to see what you come up with this month.

Cheers Tomis, there are some well creepy insects in China, I've really got to get a macro lens one day. It kind of reminds me of the creature from "Alien". It has that black, metallic look going on and its claws look like the kind of tools that'd come in handy for fixing the car!!

Not sure about this month's assignment. Going away for a couple of weeks in a few days and up to now I've had no creative sparks to fit the theme. Maybe I'll get struck by a flash of inspiration in the next couple of days...

haha yes I agree with patti.

I like #3 the most because the reddish thing makes it look like the bug just slaughtered an insect..or did it? haha.

Maybe that's why it wasn't moving much...because it had a full stomach :)
