Hi everyone,

Just got back from a trip over the New Forest with the macro setup - and it's orchid season - YAYYY!!!!

This is the first shot hot off the press, got about a dozen or so more:

hmm did you use a flash here because it seems as though the highlights are extremely blown on the white pedals and its hard to see detail in it.. i would retake the shot without a flash and in post processing really bump up saturation of some colors.. (that is if you can retake it) but besides for that i like the way it looks its just its hard to see whats going on.

hmm - I think if the white point was blown anywhere I would get an RGB reading of 250,250,250 at the blown point - and I don't.

well there not completely blown but slightly.. i just think it would be a a lot better with softer light.. im not trying to be harsh about the picture i like i just would like so see it with a little bit softer light.. you know what i mean

I don't think you were being at all harsh about the image being blown out - just incorrect.
