Yeah i took the D80 for a spin today playing with it getting some serious badly results from the camera, any way to default everything back to normal? I was just pretty much messing around with all possible settings!

Ended getting some way underexposed shot, for some reason the shutter speed didnt want to go slower it was stuck on 200 when i didnt want it there on A-mode, fiddled some more and i fixed it.

Ended up going for some Marco,

Some flowers:

Some "i dont know"

And a treat! this shot would have been really neat if i had the 300mm, nice background with the bridge and what not :)

Now that i come to think about it its nothing special really :)

Been reading up on some strobist stuff going to try to get a wiked self portrait

If you are using the pop-up flash, the highest shutter speed you can set the camera to is 200. Not sure why it wouldnt want to go slower. I generally stay away from P and A mode's, unless I am out and about with my 70-300 where I might need a shot right there and then and can't afford to play around with the settings. There's a full setting reset option somewhere in the settings, cant remember where though off hand.

Emp, how i did that i created a gradient over the layer with those colors and just blended it in over the image :) looks kind of tricked out, hehe

*Offtopic*
Gregory.Rotter, yeah it wont go any faster then 200, which is quite the shame really. I want to try to use the CLS (creative lightning system) that can be used with the D80 and the D600/800 but i couldn't crank the shutter speed down... (i m talking about other shots here that are not in this thread)
*Offtopic*

But none of those images above are shot with the flash

EDIT: post edited for clarification purposes

Gregory.Rotter, yeah it wont go any faster then 200, i think that is a true bummer, i wanted to capture some nice lightning with the CLS and bring it down to something really fast but i couldn't because i was using the built in flash as commander.

Well if your shooting lightning just shoot with bulb or 30 second exposures.. so that everytime the lightning strikes you get the lightning through the sky.

Just curious where the sync flash speed and the lightning conversation is coming from?

I dont think i mentioned any flash talk in my post :P and shooting lightning is something i gotta try

p.s that 30sec bulb mode only work at night ;)

Perhaps the association was made in consequence of your typing error?
