our garden is looking mighty fine at the moment, i ain't got a clue whats what but there colorful and looking quite nice, so i been out playing with me aperture and a Shallow DOF in some of these

Hi urdygurdy,

great series and some interesting flowers there! I particularly like the last two with your play on the DOF. Good creamy bokeh and the composition is very nice too.

There's some "restraint" in the colors and it looks like it was taken on a days where the sun was filtered through clouds...looks pale and sophisticated rather than "ka-pow" sunflushed colors. Makes them look "real".

Good work there!

What did you shoot these with?

these pics were taken with a Canon 40D 17 - 85mm Lens and more or less as close as i could get really.

i am quite pleased with them sommat a bit different for me, I have tried similar on sunny days and the sun is just to harsh and i struggle to capture as much detail, so i did wait until the end of the day when the sun had died down.
