I saw some rocks at the dollar store right next to the flowers, I really liked the contrast so I bought the rocks (the flower was fake)
At home I layed the rocks out on a floor tile (that resembled a black and white marble also bought at dollar store) misted them with some water took a trip out to the garden pulled a flower and set up a 2 light set up. the first light is camera left about 60* above the subject diffused with my collapsible reflector/diffuser. the other is a light camera right snooted to focus on the flower.

I also copied the jpg, saved as a psd and made the flower its own layer so I can change the color of that.
