Well, closest thing I've seen on this planet that looks like the creature from alien. A dragonfly larva has emerged from our pond and locked itself onto a reed before a fullu-formed dragonfly emerged from the neck region. Here we have the empty larval case still gripping the reed.

great capture, and yet something else I was unaware of on this planet...and still, you rate a 10...10 on the great capture scale, and for the gross scale, 10 again...(you need to take some pictures of some nice little ducks).

Hi Patti,

As spring progresses I promise I'll take some nicer looking subjects, like bees, ladybirds and dragonflies themselves. Yesterday I saw the first new foal of the year (New Forest ponies) - so spring is definitely here, and more photogenic subjects

Thats a great photo Greg, i like the Grey card version better as it is less grainy, but still a fantastic capture of how weird yet amazing some of the creatures on this planet can be.
